Church History

Our church was organized on Sept.5, 1903 under the leadership of Elder Alan A. Hensler. Twenty two members “expressed a desire to be organized into a Missionary Baptist Church and after due consideration adopted the 12th Chapter of Romans for a Special Covenant. Then while singing the hymn How Firm A Foundation extended hand of Church fellowship to each other.” This quotation is taken from the first book of record in the hand of Ed Rippetoe, Church Clerk. This foundation for our church has stood the test of time as our nation has suffered through wars, financial distress, change in demography and a downward moral spiral. And now after the leadership of fourteen pastors and six generations of membership we have the same Bible, the same doctrine, the same hope and the same way of practicing our faith.
